Wigwe, his wife, and their son’s body arrives in Rivers to be buried

Dr. Herbert Wigwe, the late chief executive officer of Access Bank Plc, has arrived in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, for burial. Alongside his wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizi.

The remains were greeted at the Airport Omagwa Roundabout by the Ikwerre people and Samuel Nwanosike, the chairman of the local government.

On February 9, 2024, Wigwe, his wife, son, and former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, perished in a helicopter crash that happened close to a town that marks the US boundary between California and Nevada.
